A DEVASTATED family has paid tribute to a “loving father” and his baby son who were among four people killed when a car being chased by police hit them.
Father-of-three Adnan Ashraf Jarral, 35, and Usman Adnan Jarral, one, died when a VW Golf careered into their VW Touran people carrier on Friday night. Husband and wife Miroslav Duna, 50, and Vlasta Dunova, 41, also died in the crash in the Darnall area of Sheffield.
They were believed to have been friends of Mr Jarral’s wife, Tahreen, who is recovering in hospital. Police said their daughter, Nikola Dunova, 22, was also seriously injured in the Touran along with her daughter, Livia Matova, three, who is in a critical condion. Three men in the Golf, aged 17, 18 and 23, had minor injuries. They were arrested and are in custody. Mr Jarral’s uncle, Shafqat Mirza, called his nephew “humble and polite” and extremely proud of his two sons and stepson.
He added: “To lose such a young person who was very loving, very caring, family-orientated and community orientated, it’s devastating for all of us.” South Yorkshire Police has referred the crash to the Independent Office for Police Conduct. In a separate tragedy, the family of an eight-year-old who died after she was hit by a car in Salford, Greater Manchester, on Saturday described her as their “beautiful girl and the kindest person we ever knew”. Paramedics tried to save Emily Connor, of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, but she died at the scene. A man, 24, was held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
